Well, it has been a long dry spell in my posts. Likewise it has been a long dry spell in my area in the country.
We have been fighting a drought. I would almost go so far as to say "severe drought". It has been bad news for our farmers, and I must say bad news for many.
I have become a slave to my garden...my garden and the water hose. My day seems to begin and end with that *&$&^%^^ hose.
Now if this "water-hose" time entailed me, say frolicking with my children.... hey great! Yet, sadly no. Nothing this energetic, rollicking, or joyous. It simply is me...standing....hose in hand....dousing each plant. Sounds scintillating right? Yeah, I think so too!
Not only have we had no rain, we have had record amounts of 90+ days. So, what water I have been putting on the ground is being evaporated as quickly as I am putting it down.
Now, the bright side here is we have gotten a couple of nice rainfalls, the temps have fallen, and we are supposed to get another monsoon this weekend. I can lay down my hose.
I need to bring out the mower again however....
Now to more serious matters. Several things to feel grateful for, several things to pray for.
I am grateful that my family and all my loved ones are safe! No one was on a bridge that collapsed. Thank you, Thank you.
I am grateful that the aforementioned are not in the bowels of a coal mine---trapped, in who knows what condition. Thank You, and Thank You again!
I sincerely pray for everyone out there that cannot say these same statements of gratitude. I pray you find strength, comfort, and peace. I pray that you will again allow joy into your life....because I know this is hard to do. I also pray that soon the day will come that you can find things to be grateful for, and you can too say...Thank You, Thank You.
But, until then, we will pray that it will come for you, and we'll be grateful FOR having you here.
Now, if you can, go hug-kiss-or call your loved ones and say I Love You! -M-
